How-to guide

Get set up in about five minutes

Everything below happens inside the app. If you haven't already, create your account first, then follow along.

  1. 1

    Create your account

Go to the app and sign up with your email. No credit card needed to start tracking titles.

  2. 2

    Add your first title

Click "+ New title" on your shelf. Give it a name, and if it's part of a series, add the series name and book number. If it's currently enrolled in Kindle Unlimited or KDP Select, check that box, it drives the platform blocking logic in step 4.

  3. 3

    Add a format

Open the title, and under Formats, choose ebook, paperback, hardcover, audiobook, large print, spiral-bound, or digital download, then add an ISBN if you have one. Each format gets its own pipeline stage, starting at "manuscript."

  4. 4

    Fill in the platform grid

The moment you add a format, Frontlist automatically lists every built-in platform that format could go on. Mark each one not started, submitted, live, rejected, or blocked. If a title is KU-enrolled, other ebook platforms will already show as blocked, so you always know why.

  5. 5

Add a platform if one's missing

Sell somewhere that isn't on the built-in list? Scroll to "Don't see a platform you sell on?" on any title page, add it once, and it applies to every title on your account from then on.

  6. 6

    Track your vendors

Link an editor, cover designer, narrator, or formatter to a title, so it's always clear who's working on what.

  7. 7

    Update stages as work happens

As a format moves from cover design to formatting to live, update its stage. Your shelf view shows at a glance how many formats of each title are actually live versus still in progress.
